Lake Park

Show Contact Information +

Lake Park is located in northwest Iowa in Dickinson County, just west of the Iowa Great Lakes Region. Situated around Silver Lake, Lake Park is home to over 1,100 people. The Lake Park area is a true sportsman's paradise with plenty of hunting and fishing opportunities either on the 1,041-acre Silver Lake or the many areas of public land that surrounds the community. Two campgrounds also sit adjacent to Silver Lake, both with hookups and daily, weekly or monthly rates.

Lake Park is home to the Dickinson County Freedom Rock and Veteran's Memorial. The layout of the memorial shows the unity between all the branches and our veterans. Each military branch is represented by field rock set in the middle of a circle signifying that branch's activity and retired service members. All of the rings intersect with the center ring around the Freedom Rock showing the unity of all those who served or are serving. The top circle, as you enter the Memorial from the south, is in honor of the families who have also sacrificed in their support of their service member.

The Heritage Square Museum is located one block west of main street on Railroad Avenue. There you can see the restored railroad depot, prairie house and original city jail, dating back to around 1860.
