Jim Tillman will share "The History of African American Publications in Sioux City from 1899 to 2023" on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Betty Strong Encounter. The audience will learn how the Black community was kept informed through their own newspapers, which were published about blacks, for blacks. Admission is free, with reception to follow. The Center comprises a private, non-profit cultural complex built and sustained by Missouri River Historical Development, Inc. (MRHD).
