Muscatine History Revisited

Incorporated in 1839, Muscatine (formerly Bloomington) flourished into a prosperous community nestled in a bend on the Mississippi River. Its location on the river contributed to the industrialization of the town. By the late 1800s, Muscatine boasted numerous businesses and amenities that could sustain the town’s growing population. The Muscatine History Revisited exhibition explores many community milestones and early businesses.
