Oneota Valley Community Orchestra Movie Pops Concert

OVCO, under the baton of Music Director Matthew Cody, will present a Movie Pops concert. People attending the program are encouraged to dress up as a character from one of the classic Hollywood science fiction and space movies from which the orchestra will be performing the soundtracks. These are major musical scores from great block-buster film composers, including John Williams. The Movie Pops program includes Williams’s beloved E.T. Flying Theme and will conclude with his iconic Star Wars Suite. OVCO will play another equally famous movie score, Star Trek Into Darkness by Micheal Giacchino. Continuing with the space theme, the orchestra will also present Jerry Goldsmith & James Horner’s atmospheric Suite from Alien, and James Horner’s majestic Apollo 13 Suite. Tickets are $15 - Adults, $8 Students (K-12) and under 5 years old - free. They are available in advance through Eventbrite or at the door. The Marion E. Jerome Foundation and The Depot Outlet are OVCO season sponsors. The orchestra also receives funding support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
