Anita

Located in the beautiful rolling hills of southwest Iowa, Anita is 3 miles south of Interstate 80, Exit 70. At the crossroads of Hwy. 148 and 83, we are just an hour drive from either Omaha or Des Moines. Platted 1869 and incorporated in 1875, Anita has always been a great community, the people here are committed to our community and our quality of life. Anita lives up to its motto "we are a whale of a town!"

We have an excellent public library and community center, a health and wellness center, lovely city parks and recreational trails, an 18 hole golf course, and a beautiful lake and state park with campgrounds and great fishing just 1 mile south of town. We have many events that are family orientated and a lot of fun. We have weekly bingo every Saturday night at the American Legion and Farmer's Market spring to fall. Lake Anita State Park hosts Saturday night movies and many other fun events throughout the year.
