Learn about the area's railroading and coal mining history at the Boone History Center or the Eisenhower family at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace. Also be sure to stop by Boone Valley Brewing Co. 

Outdoor Recreation & Exciting Eateries
Find year-round outdoor fun at Seven Oaks Recreation. In the summer, visitors can enjoy tubing, kayaking and canoeing down the river, paintball competitions and mud runs. Once the snow falls, the facility's hills transform into thrilling skiing and snowboarding slopes as well as winter tubing runs. 

Bring your own kayak or canoe and enjoy a relaxing day on the Des Moines Water Trail. 

Rest and refuel with a classic meal at Colorado Grill, then grab a sweet treat from Van Hemert's Dutch Oven Bakery.
