Located in the Volga River Valley and surrounded by forested hills, Fayette offers some of northeast Iowa's most thrilling outdoor adventures. Visit the Volga River State Recreation Area to enjoy endless fun on the 138-acre lake and/or the Volga River, from boating and canoeing to casting a line for bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass and channel catfish. The area also offers 22 miles of multi-use trails for year-round recreation. Other outdoor activities in town include a disc golf course and the Rock Bottom LLC/Big Rock Country Club. And, don't forget to sample local flavors at Heaven Boutique Winery or admire the painted images of local heroes on the Fayette County Freedom Rock.
