Harpers Ferry

This historic river valley community is located on a sand plain along the main channel of the Mississippi River. One of the largest concentrations of Indian mounds in the Upper Mississippi River region is located nearby, at Effigy Mounds National Monument.

The community contains multiple public and private marinas. Enjoy all the recreational activities associated with the Mississippi River including, hiking, wildlife viewing, hunting, trapping, clamming and commercial fishing. Visitors enjoy having a picnic at Bluffview Park, a roadside rest area featuring open shelters, grills and tables. Visitors also enjoy the handicap access to shore fishing on the Mississippi at Harpers Slough Park.
