Harris

Harris Iowa is located along Highway 9 just west of Lake Park. Stop and visit our Mini Grotto which was built behind the old post office by former postmaster E.O. Allen, of Harris. Allen built the Mini Grotto over a period of roughly five years, from 1952 to 1957. Rocks at the Mini Grotto reportedly came from 40 states and countries such as Mexico and Canada.

Near Harris is the Iowa Lake Park, a 114-acre area is located 3.5 miles north and one mile west of Harris. This park is part of Iowa Lake State Park which is managed by the state of Iowa. This site provides boating, fishing, picnicking, and hunting opportunities. There is also electric and water facilities available for camping.
