Art is the heart and soul of Malvern! Stroll the town to view its public art and delight in the many murals and sculptures. Local artist Zach Jones has created the stunning Art Church in the 1873-build Presbyterian Church. And be sure to visit Fine Arts on Fifth, a gallery that features works created by midwestern artists. Fans of the supernatural can visit Malvern Manor, a former hotel that is popular for paranormal investigations.
Outdoor Adventures & Exciting Eateries
Cyclists and walkers alike can hit the trails at the Malvern trailhead of the Wabash Trace Natural Trail, one of Iowa's premier trails. Near the city center, the Boehner Pond Campground offers camping, fishing and canoeing fun.
The Classic Cafe offers lunch Monday-Saturday, and dinner Tuesday-Saturday. Stop by and admire its beautiful mural while enjoying a meal or beverage. The Salty Heifer is a popular place for burgers and ice cream. For nighttime fun, check out Mezzo, a bourbon and cocktail bar.
Community Highlights
Malvern is part of the iconic Southwest Iowa Art Tour, held annually the third weekend in September. Each summer, the town hosts a well-loved summer concert series and during the holiday season, Malvern hosts two can't miss events: the Festival of Trees and Lantern Launch.
