Nestled in the bluffs of the Mississippi River in northeast Iowa, Marquette welcomes you to an area known as “Iowa’s Best Kept Secret.” The city offers boating, a fishing pier with handicap access to the Mississippi River, numerous parks for hiking and camping, antique shops and the visitor-friendly and award-winning Eagles Landing Winery.

Explore the Marquette Depot Museum celebrating the town’s railroad history with exhibits of historic railroad artifacts and information. Stay at the Cobble Stone Inn and Suites, or one of three rooms at the cozy Trickling Waters Retreat.

Visit Effigy Mounds just south of Marquette, to explore the history of American Indian Tribes. The 2,526-acre Effigy Mounds National Park contains over 200 American Indian mounds and a museum containing over 8,000 artifacts. Take part in a guided tour or hike any of the trails, totaling over 10 miles, along steep bluffs and hills.

Find the Pink Elephant, located on the banks of the Upper Mississippi River welcoming visitors traveling to Marquette. Enjoy trout angling, over 19 primitive campsites and hiking in the 135-acre Bloody Run Wildlife Management Area located just west of town. Marquette also hosts special events including flea markets, Railroad Days and weekly events at the Driftless Area Wetlands Center.
