We are proud to showcase over 65 acres of parks that are available for many recreational opportunities including camping, swimming, disc golf, recreation trails, ball diamonds, shelter houses, playground equipment, etc. The Rock River winds through Island Park making for a beautiful landscape to camp along & a fun place to catch a fish or 2.
Our vibrant downtown welcomes you with freshly planted flower pots each Spring. Summer kicks off with the local Farmer’s Market that runs all the way through October. Rock Rapids city celebration, Heritage days has been going strong for over 40 years & hosts an extended weekend of events and activities for everyone!! A few Fall & Winter events include a wine walk, a parade of lights, a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus & Westside Park is lit up with light displays set up by local business & organizations.
Rock Rapids is home to 36 murals that tell the story of the area’s rich history through the paintings that are displayed throughout town, Westside Park is home to the Veteran’s War Memorial, sand volleyball courts & modern camping facilities. The sound of car engines can be heard on Friday nights all summer long at the dirt track in the middle of town as racing has been a long tradition in Rock Rapids.
