Cedar County Historical Society Museum and Prairie Village

The Cedar County Historical Society was created on October 10, 1957. The Society was spearheaded by State Representative Albert Mensing of Lowden, William Anderson of West Branch, and Mrs. Howard Phelps (Mildred Yule) of Red Oak Grove. By January of 1958, there were 204 charter members to the Society. Today, the Society manages several properties that were bequeathed to them throughout the county. They also run a county musuem and Pioneer Village. Hours of Operation: Tuesday 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Thursday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
