Cedar Falls is considered the "Gateway to the Trails" for the Cedar Valley Trails system. Our network of recreational trails includes 130 miles of smooth hard-surfaced trails for bicycling, rollerblading, running and walking. The trail system is unique since it is based on loops of different lengths as well as connects four communities in the Cedar Valley. The Cedar Valley Lakes Trail segment in George Wyth State Park boasts the northernmost point in the United States on the American Discovery Trail and the northernmost point in Iowa on the Great American Rail-Trail. There is also a huge network of soft trails for hiking, birdwatching, and mountain biking including a dedicated cyclocross course and pump track.
There are major trailheads located throughout Cedar Falls including in the Downtown District, a great place to start and end your ride! Looking for a beer trail you can complete on your bike, we have that too!
