Great River Road National Scenic Byway - Montrose

Unwind in riverfront parks, historic downtowns, and at scenic river overlooks. Montrose is one of 6 communities on the Lake Cooper Loop, a 50 mile drive around one of the widest places on the Mississippi River. The Montrose Heritage Museum has small displays and local memorabilia, including a few native american artifacts, a working button machine and a display of all things watermelon.
