Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock consists of 469 acres along the Middle and South Raccoon Rivers. The south half of the park is open to hunting and has a 10-acre wetland, with prairie and savanna along the Middle Raccoon River. The north half is a refuge with a park, featuring a massive outcrop of sandstone over the river, an astronomical rock clock, a reservable shelterhouse* with fireplace, modern restrooms, and a spur to the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Hanging Rock is near the Redfield Dam and several canoe/kayak access points.
