The Harrison County Historical Village and Welcome Center is uniquely located on two national scenic byways - the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway and the Iowa Lincoln Highway National Heritage Byway - and on one state byway - the Western Skies Scenic Byway. The facility includes a five building historical complex, an official Iowa Welcome Center with over 300 brochures, interpretive information on all three byways, a mile-long trail through restored prairie, a scenic overlook, and a transportation themed playground for kids. The Iowa gift shop includes a full array of Iowa souvenirs, food, and gift items. It is home to the Harrison County Freedom Rock, and hosts the weekly Welcome Center Farmers Market on Thursday afternoons from mid-May to mid -October. Be sure to get a free sample of cherry drink that has been a made and bottled at the facility for over 100 years!
