Located in a 9 acre park, the village/museum complex recreates the history of Hamilton County and the westward expansion of the U.S. to the prairies. The complex houses two original pioneer cabins, restored one room schoolhouse, restored prairie church, the 2nd oldest original county courthouse in the state, 1901' wooden Illinois Central Railroad Depot and one of the last Illinois Central Cabooses, all connected by a hard surface trail. The depot serves as a museum with a variety of historical artifacts from Webster City and Hamilton County including a large collection of Native American artifacts. The 1866' courthouse is newly restored with courtroom on the 2nd floor and displays of early county offices on the first floor. One of the cabins is the original structure erected by pioneer Wilson Brewer. The cabin was the first building put up in what would become Webster City.
