Indian Creek Historical Society/Museum
Just west of Emerson Iowa on old Highway 34 (south of the Nishna Valley school) is the Indian Creek Historical Society, which houses four large machine sheds of antique farm machinery, steam engines, stationary engines, horse equipment, fire trucks, hand tools and antique household items. There is a working blacksmith shop, a heritage century-barn, one-room school house and a log cabin.
There are regularly scheduled breakfasts (free will donations) on the fourth Sunday of each month starting at 8 a.m. The historical society hosts the annual Iowa Corn Hand husking competition each September. The upcoming Iowa Corn Hand Husking competition is September 17, 2022.
