More than 142 tile plaques are integrated into the Sheridan Avenue Streetscape and side streets, honoring Iowans, born in or lived here, who made an impact on our state, nation and world.
Newest inductees include Max F. Schneider, led the Rangers on D-Day WWII; Harry Stine, pioneer in corn & soybean genetics; Robert D. Ray, Iowa Governor who facilitated refugee settlement ; Christian K. Nelson, inventor of Eskimo Pie ice cream bars; Ashton Kutcher, actor; George L. Stout, original "Monuments Man."
