Kalbach Oil Friendly Gas Station Man
This is one of the attractions along the White Pole Road in Menlo, IA. In 1934 the Kalbach Oil Company commissioned the Nebraska Neon Sign Company in Lincoln to build an image of a service station attendant in a blue uniform outlined in neon lights to welcome motorists. The sign was refurbished in 2013 and once again the neon lights shine and the gas station man waved to passing cars. It is currently non-operational.
