Mary J Barnett Memorial Library - About our library - So Much More than books! Cookbook & Book Clubs, Libby, IA Libraries Adventure Pass, Bridge and Cribbage classes, Card Making Class, Youth STEM Programs, Summer Reading Programs, and Early Literacy Programs. We have over 28,000 books on our shelves - fiction and non-fiction. We have a section of "Classic Books" and "Story Collections" as well as paperback books, large print books, audiobooks, DVD movies, non-fiction DVDs, and music CDs. Local residents and visitors from out of state often use the Genealogy Section. Our county newspapers, the Des Moines Register, magazines, local newsletters, and catalogs are updated regularly. Our Children's Area has board books on the Reading Steps, easy books for youngsters, and juvenile fiction and non-fiction books. We also have a Wii, DVD movie-watching area, puzzles, games, puppets, checkers table, coloring table, and 2 computers. We hope to have a new "electronic game table" installed sometime this fall. A unique area is reserved for our Young Adults with comfortable chairs and their own fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novel shelves surround their space to give them some privacy.
