Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery

Julia and Bryce Flaherty are the owners and operators of Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery. Their love of wine started with a simple gift. Julia received a winemaking starter kit for Christmas and has not looked back since. She liked experimenting with different grapes, fruits, and flowers to create unique and delicious wines. She enjoyed being able to share the wines she had created with her family and friends. Along with gaining experience winemaking at home, Julia and Bryce continued their education by taking wine production and vineyard management classes. After winemaking for about five years, they thought it would be fun to turn their hobby into a family business. The name Olathea Creek Vineyard &Winery comes from the history of the land. The vineyard was once the campsite for the Sauk and Fox tribes. The term 'olethe' in Fox means beautiful. Beautiful is the perfect adjective to describe the property. The property features a picturesque creek and provides a quiet, country setting along the majestic Mississippi River. The name also pays homage to the former Olathea Golf Course which operated on the site for 30 years. Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery's first wine production started in the Fall of 2020 and has been expanding ever since. We are excited to share with you our love of local grapes and fruit with our customers. We have a variety of wines available ranging from dry to sweet. We are confident there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
