Oskaloosa Main Street
Oskaloosa Main Street is a community organization focused on the heart of Oskaloosa: downtown! Contact us to find out more about programs, events, and more. In downtown Oskaloosa, you'll find a historic town square and bandstand surrounded by great places to dine and shop, including coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, antiques, recycled and repurposed home decor, a beautifully renovated historic bank-turned-bookshop, and more! While you're here, explore the sculpture tour, arts center, and historical markers. On Thursday nights in the summer (June - August), the municipal band plays a concert on the Square—a tradition since 1864! As the county seat and heart of Oskaloosa, our downtown is featured throughout the 2021 Explore Mahaska County visitors guide, which is available online here: https://www.mahaskachamber.org/visit Oskaloosa was first designated as a Main Street Community in 1986, making it one of the very first established programs in the state of Iowa. Today, it is one of more than 50 Main Street communities statewide and 1,200+ across the country. Oskaloosa Main Street is a Main Street Iowa community, nationally accredited Main Street America community, and a proud part of the Mahaska Chamber.
