Shimek State Forest

One of the largest continuous areas of timber in the state with 9,000 acres. Four large ponds, stocked with largemouth bass, catfish, and other panfish. Electric trolling motors are allowed. Public hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling trails. Equestrian trails and camping facilities are available at the Lick Creek unit. Picnic tables, cook sites and primitive camping sites are throughout the forest.
