Slater Area Historical Museum

Historical exhibits about the surrounding area and communities - 1939 Kitchen, the Slater Panorama (a scale model of Slater in the 1950s), 1920 Dentist Office, military display of photos, memorabilia and stories. Current exhibits include "Unsung Heroes of World War 2", and the Big Cow. Our main exhibit honors the veterans of the Vietnam War. The display includes interviews with Vietnam veterans and many photos. There is an accompanying book telling their complete stories. On display is a complete mess kit from the war, including the chiclets and cigarettes! Exhibit on presented through August 2024. Many other visual displays and with some interactive! Groups welcome! Children welcome! Docent tours available.
