South Skunk River Water Trail - Anderson Access

Show Contact Information +
This State Water Trail spans 33 miles of the South Skunk River Water with 11 access points, offering stunning scenery and a rich geological history. The river was shaped by melting glaciers, leaving behind rounded cobbles, large granite boulders, and gravel along its path, which can be found along and in the river. Rock rifles constructed in several locations create faster-moving water, providing excellent habitats for fish and exciting challenges for experienced paddlers. Anderson Access is also an access point to the Skunk River Greenbelt hiking trails. For a detailed map of all access points, visit the brochure available at www.storycountyiowa.gov.
