The Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana

The Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana, established by the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Association, opened on September 1, 1973, fulfilling the dream of repertoire theatre enthusiasts Neil and Caroline Schaffner. The museum is dedicated to preserving the history of early repertoire theatre, featuring a vast collection of painted curtains, costumes, playbills, and an extensive research library. A highlight is the collection of videotaped interviews with former “troupers,” offering insights into their experiences in the theatre world.
