The Woodcarving Museum houses features over 6000 woodcarvings from around the world, collected by Stanley “Slim” Maroushek over the past 70 years. It is the largest woodcarving museum in the United States. Carvings range in size from tiny matchsticks to an 18-foot totem pole. It is the home of the 120 piece, two-ring “Circus Display” carved by the Caricature Carvers of America. Outside you will see a life-size+ chainsaw carved “Hobo Camp”, created by Slim, and relocated from Harmony Minnesota. Museum is open from May 1 - Oct 31; Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sundays 1-4 p.m. Other times available by appointment. It is helpful to call ahead. The Turkey River Culture is committed to promoting traditional music and dance, sponsoring 1-2 acoustic jams or music performances per month.
