Whippoorwill Creek Farm

Show Contact Information +
Whippoorwill Creek Farm is a 570-acre farm working raise the best beef, goats and veggies possible without the sprays, chemicals, or GMOs. We also host farm tours, cooking and writing classes, on-farm dinners, and overnight stays, and love to have people visit and learn. John Hogeland grew up on the farm in Iowa, was trained as a chef and butcher, and now is in charge of raising the farm's grass-finished beef and goats. He teaches butchery, cooking and team building classes. You can reach him at johnbutcherman@gmail.com Beth Hoffman has been reporting on food and agriculture for more than twenty-five years and is the author of Bet the Farm: The Dollars and Sense of Growing Food in America, a book about the economics of farming, told through her story of moving to the farm. Now she runs the vegetable operation on the farm and is in charge of the marketing and finances. She also writes In the Dirt as part of the Iowa Writers Collaborative. Contact her at bethaudio@gmail.com Beth and John want Whippoorwill Creek Farm to connect our visitors and customers to the things that really matter: feeding our families delicious and nutritious food, creating jobs in our community and making sure Iowa's land is healthy for our great-great-great grandkids.
